Proposition 65 Warning

1. What Is Proposition 65

Proposition 65 is a California law officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. It requires businesses to provide warnings to California residents about exposures to chemicals that have been identified by the State of California as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The law maintains a list of chemicals that is updated annually by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).

2. Why This Warning Is Provided

Some JANI ZORVEX products may contain trace amounts of chemicals listed under Proposition 65. While we believe our products are safe when used as intended, we provide this warning to comply with California law and to ensure that California consumers are informed about potential exposures. The presence of a warning does not necessarily mean that a product will cause harm, as Proposition 65 sets thresholds that are often far below federal safety standards.

3. Listed Chemicals

The Proposition 65 list includes over 900 chemicals. Chemicals that may be relevant to our products include, but are not limited to: lead, cadmium, phthalates, flame retardants, and certain dyes. The full list is available at www.p65warnings.ca.gov.

4. Lead and Cadmium Disclosure

Some metal components used in zippers, buttons, or decorative elements on bedding sets and accessories may contain trace amounts of lead or cadmium. These elements are used in manufacturing processes for metal hardware and may be present at levels that trigger Proposition 65 notification requirements. Exposure to lead and cadmium is associated with cancer, birth defects, and reproductive harm.

5. Foam Products and Flame Retardants

Memory foam mattress toppers and pillows may contain trace amounts of flame retardant chemicals. While all our foam products meet federal flammability standards (16 CFR Part 1632 and 1633), some flame retardant chemicals used in foam manufacturing are listed under Proposition 65. These chemicals may be present at levels that require a warning under California law.

6. Silk Products and Dyes

Silk sleep masks and silk pillowcases are dyed using commercial textile dyes. Some textile dyes and their byproducts are listed under Proposition 65. While our silk products are manufactured to minimize chemical residues, trace amounts of dye-related chemicals may be present and could require a Proposition 65 warning for California residents.
